UISS has signed on to a coalition letter in support of S. 4994, the Our Nation's Supply Chain for Healthcare has Over Reliance Elsewhere (ONSHORE) Manufacturing Act, introduced by Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) on July 15, 2026.
The legislation is designed to strengthen domestic healthcare supply chains and reduce U.S. dependence on foreign sources for essential medical products and supplies. Specifically, the bill would provide targeted tax incentives to support investments in domestic medical manufacturing equipment and help manufacturers address Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) compliance costs, encouraging greater production capacity within the United States.
By joining this coalition effort, UISS is supporting policies that promote supply chain resilience, enhance national preparedness, and expand domestic manufacturing capabilities critical to the healthcare sector.
We will continue to monitor the bill's progress and share updates as they become available.
